October 2022 – Breaking News: Leading Human Rights lawyer appointed for refugee family in Uganda
SarasCare is incredibly relieved to announce that we now have a Human Rights Lawyer in place to assist our latest refugee family in Uganda.
Our project director Ganesh has been working around the clock to secure this Human Rights Lawyer to ensure that this family are not deported back to the insecure situation from which they have fled.
The importance of this latest development cannot be over stated – it is a vital step to secure refugee status for this family in Uganda.
This professional help was made possible by the generous support of our donors. The family will now have top rate assistance in gaining a UN refugee card.
This is a vital first step in the long term search for a final host country.
The first meeting of the Family and the Human rights lawyer was quite emotional and tears were rolling down on Father’s eyes. He spoke about his cherished elderly mother whom he had left behind. It was also touching in the meeting to see his whole family of wife, two young daughters and son at this time.
The father shared his professional background with the Human Rights Lawyer during the meeting and it was humbling to hear about his professional achievements and skills. SarasCare’s is now working with contacts on the ground to get the father a working permit so that he finds a job in line with his banking profession.
At SarasCare we are praying that all may go well with their asylum. We are all united in working to fulfil this family’s quest for safety and security.
SarasCare is thankful to the local the Docklands News editor Sean Carr back Melbourne who assisted us with local charity contacts who then put us in touch with this local human rights lawyer in Uganda.
The power of these local global connections really helps SarasCare live our positive value of: Think Local, Act Global.
